A couple of weeks ago I was finally able to meet a bunch of my squadmates in Texas. I was super anxious that they wouldn’t like me or that there would already be cliques. I quickly realized that couldn’t be further from the truth. I was blown away by the love I was welcomed with. Each one of them were so deeply grounded in their faith that it was easy to get along. It amazed me how God could so perfectly fit us together. Every girl that was there had a testimony that was unique and a story that could only be crafted by God.
One night we sat around a plate filled with little candles as we worshipped together. By the time we were done the candles had all melted into one with each of the lights still burning. Several of the girls were excited as it seemed the candles represented a metaphor. Each of us is just a small candle lighting up just a little of the world we encounter. But as God brings our very different lives together, He can make our lights shine so much brighter. That is exactly what we will do as we head onto the mission field. We will shine brightly, together, as the body of Christ – more brightly than we ever could without one another.
